Betrayal Trauma

Experiencing betrayal, whether in a close relationship or a trusted partnership, can leave deep emotional scars. Betrayal trauma therapy focuses on healing from the profound pain and trust issues that arise from infidelity, deceit, or other forms of emotional betrayal. Through compassionate and individualized care, we work together to rebuild your sense of self, establish healthy boundaries, and help you regain a sense of safety and trust in your relationships and within yourself. You don’t have to carry this burden alone—therapy can be a crucial step toward healing. Although I do not work directly with individuals struggling with a compulsive sexual behavior disorder, I have close working relationships with a number of Certified Sex Addiction Therapists (CSATs) in Springfield, and will gladly provide coordinated care for those who would like to work in conjunction with their partner’s recovery process.

Couples Betrayal Recovery

When betrayal occurs in a relationship, it can shatter the foundation of trust and intimacy between partners. Specialized couples therapy for betrayal recovery provides a space where the couple can process the hurt, rebuild communication, and work toward healing together. With a focus on restoring trust, understanding underlying emotional wounds, and fostering empathy, this approach helps couples navigate the complex emotions of betrayal. Whether dealing with infidelity, dishonesty, or any other form of betrayal, therapy can guide couples through the challenging process of rebuilding their connection and creating a healthier, more resilient relationship moving forward. EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based approach that helps individuals process traumatic memories and reduce their emotional charge. This powerful therapy can assist in overcoming PTSD, anxiety, and other trauma-related challenges. By using bilateral stimulation (typically through guided eye movements), EMDR helps reframe negative beliefs, fostering healing and emotional resilience. If you've experienced trauma and find that your memories continue to impact your daily life, EMDR may offer a transformative pathway toward recovery. To learn more about EMDR, read more here.
